Joseph Pilates created the Pilates method (originally called Contrology). His approach was designed to achieve integrated conditioning of both mind and body, optimising overall health, vitality, posture, and anatomical efficiency through everyday movement.
Pilates is a versatile method of movement that can be adapted for all body types, conditions, and levels of fitness. It supports and enhances strength and conditioning while improving functional movement patterns found in daily life and sporting activities. With regular practice, Pilates builds muscular strength, joint mobility, balanced posture, and mind–body awareness — benefits that carry through to everyday activities and pursuits.

Repertoire Studio is a no-phone zone. All phones and smartwatches must be on silent and left with your belongings before the lesson begins. If you require your phone during a lesson, permission from your instructor is needed beforehand.
Repertoire Studio operates under a teacher–student dynamic. While we encourage community and conversation before and after class, please respect your teacher’s guidance and the focus of fellow participants once the lesson begins.
-
On rare occasions, a minimum of 2 participants is required for scheduled lessons. If fewer than 2 people are booked, the lesson will be cancelled. You will be notified at least 2 hours prior, and your booking will be credited back to you.
-
Lessons commence strictly at the scheduled start time, and we have a no-late-entry policy. Studio doors are locked once class begins to maintain quality and minimise disruption. Please arrive 5–10 minutes early, allowing for travel and parking, so you can settle in before the lesson.
-
Bookings open three weeks in advance. This allows clients to plan their schedule ahead of time. We don’t encourage multiple-block bookings, so please book thoughtfully to allow space for others.
-
Group lessons are not suitable for expecting mothers. Prenatal clients are encouraged to book private or duet lessons to support their individual needs throughout pregnancy. Certain group classes may be suitable postnatally. Please contact the studio directly so we can guide you to the right lessons for your recovery and rebuild journey.

Grip socks are required for all Reformer and studio apparatus lessons to maintain hygiene and protect the classical equipment (leather and wood foundations require extra care for longevity). Grip socks can be purchased at the studio if needed. They are not required for Matwork classes. We also recommend bringing a water bottle and small towel.
-
All lessons can be booked and paid for through our online booking platform (via the Book Now button). In-studio purchases such as props or grip socks can be charged to your card on file or settled with a credit/debit card.
-
No prior classical experience is required to get started. However, new clients who haven’t used classical equipment will be asked to complete 10 foundation-level lessons to learn safe setup, modifications, and care of the apparatus. Our Reformers feature 4 equal springs, a leather pulley system, and a free-standing footbar, which require adjustments to suit each client. The foundation lessons are designed to build confidence and familiarity before progressing.
